Life Bridges Annual Fund Drive

In challenging times, Life Bridges has increased services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A campaign to help raise funds has been mailed to many members of our community asking to help in funding with:

  • Services for people with no funding
  • Vans with lower mileage as many have over 175,000 miles
  • Duplex for supportive living
  • Landscaping for supported living homes
  • Home updates including painting, flooring, heat/air units

All gifts are tax deductible as Life Bridges is a non-profit agency 501-C3.

You can make a difference with your tax deductible gift. Any gift, no matter how small will make a difference. Mail to : Life Bridges/P.O. Box 29/Cleveland, TN 37364

Thoughts from Jimmy’s Journal, Authored by James Long Eagle Kilgore

Volunteering at Faith Memorial Church…Volunteering is a very important skill that we may need to
get a job at a place assigned by supportive employment coaches. Volunteering can sometimes be easy
and sometimes hard but with a little help from GOD, we can move a mountain with faith on our side. I
like the way Faith Memorial Church employers and supporters including Pastor Jimmy, Mike, Earl and
George visit and help us. I like to put up the food that we unload and organize the food on the shelves.
We help feed families!
There is a new Mayor in Cleveland, Tennessee…August 2nd, 2018, a new Mayor was elected to replace
Tom Rowland after 26 years of being Mayor of Cleveland, Tennessee, that is part of Tennessee history.
He has been doing a wonderful job. Kevin Brooks defeating Duane Schriver with sixty percent of the
vote and over four thousand votes for Kevin Brooks. David Miller (a member of our group) was a huge
Brooks fan. He is the one who declared me as Hometown Hero at the 40th commencement at Cleveland
State.

Message From Diana Jackson, CEO

This year we celebrate 45 YEARS of providing
services and supports to people in our
community. We have so much to be grateful
for, as so many people lend their expertise to
help us with resources, opportunities, and knowledge. Thank you
for being a LIFE BRIDGES PARTNER! We truly could not
accomplish our goals without you!
We have big plans! We will be celebrating our Legislators on
September 20th at 9:30AM. They have supported legislation to
appropriate money to agencies across the state in order to pay
direct care staff $10 per hour. We will have conversations with
legislators, tours of our buildings, light refreshments, a large group
picture taken by the Cleveland Daily Banner-you will not want to
miss this event!
The end of the year giving campaign will kick off this fall. A
foundation is being discussed and maybe come to fruition in 2019.
The foundation would help people who need services with no
funding and other needs as they occur.
Also, mark your calendars for April 5, 2019; we are planning a
fundraising dinner and entertainment night. MORE TO COME.
As for what is happening now: Summer is winding down and the
rain has finally stopped! This has brought relief to the nearly 40
groups that are out each day experiencing our community and
enjoying the outdoors, so the break in the weather if helpful. We
appreciate the assistance from families and local partners as we
find meaningful opportunities where we can volunteer. Several
people supported are delivering Meals on Wheels, stocking food
pantries, helping packing the sack packs for children and recycling.
How great it is to be part of something that is helping so many
people!
Diana
