A sense of community has a powerful impact on physical and mental health. Life Bridges fosters social relationships at multiple levels. Life Bridges staff members treat the individuals they serve with respect and dignity. They engage in all aspects of life together and form bonds that often last a lifetime.

Life Bridges staff also act as path makers; creating opportunities for individuals to make friends within the agency and in the community. Staff serve in the role of coach in social skills. Staff and individuals explore opportunities for community action that fall within the interests of the person served.

There are many volunteer opportunities in Bradley County. These include activities such as animal rescue, delivering meals to senior adults, and recycling. Senior adults are encouraged to participate in activities at the Senior Center where they develop relationships with their peers.

Individuals are encouraged to participate in faith groups where relationships are forged. The sense of community ebbs into the workplace as job coaches facilitate relationships in the workplace.
