Damaris Betancourt has been a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee since 1987, when she relocated from California to complete her BA in Psychology at Lee University. Upon graduation, Damaris was employed at Hiwassee Mental Health Center for several years where she worked as a supported employment case manager and on the Mobile Crises Response team.
Damaris was the Social Services/Admissions Director at Life Care Center of Athens for a year and then she chose to return to school. While working on her Master’s Degree she began to work in the Residential Program at Life Bridges as a Direct Support Professional in May 1993. She later advanced to Residential Program Supervisor and was then promoted to Residential Program Director. Over the course of her employment at Life Bridges, Damaris has also served as the Intermediate Care Facility Director, Case Management Director, and Director of Support Services. She has supported an individual in Family Model Services for over 19 years.
While working at Life Bridges, she completed her Masters of Counseling at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary. She later obtained an ASN in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. Most recently, Damaris has accepted the position of Director of Operations.
Having worked at Life Bridges for over 27 years, it is her sincere desire to ensure the success of both the individuals supported and the agency as it continues to bridge the gap, assisting individuals to attain their envisioned life.
